After sitting behind legendary quarterback Aaron Rodgers during the first few years of his NFL career, Jordan Love finally got the opportunity last season to step in as the starting signal-caller for the Green Bay Packers.
Love struggled a bit at first, but as he began to get more comfortable in his new role, his performance improved, and it ultimately led to the Packers earning a spot in the playoffs.
Recently, Love appeared on “The Pivot” podcast, and he reflected on some of his experiences during the 2023 season, including how important cornerback Jaire Alexander was to the Packers’ success (via Ryan Clark on Twitter).
“Obviously, you see what type of player he is on the field. He is a phenomenal player, so I can’t say enough good things about him.”
One of my favorite players in the league is @JaireAlexander. First off he’s my fraternity brother as a member of @kapsi1911, he’s a flat out baller, and the most entertaining of personalities. Love’s comments came about after he was asked about some of Alexander’s antics both on the field and off the field that drew attention to the cornerback during the last year.
The Green Bay quarterback couldn’t help but laugh and call Alexander “a character.”
Given their age, both Love and Alexander have emerged as two of the top young leaders on the Packers’ roster.
If Green Bay is going to have any success during the next few seasons, Love and Alexander are likely going to have a lot to do with it.
Last year, the Packers got off to a slow start, but they were able to finish strong, and they even managed to pull off an upset over the Dallas Cowboys in the opening round of the playoffs.
For 2024, Love, Alexander, and the rest of their Green Bay teammates will likely be looking to start the season on a high note and see if they can help the franchise end their two-year draught without an NFC North title.
