The Dallas Cowboys have yet to sign Dak Prescott to a contract extension.
The team was firmly expected to reach a new deal with their franchise quarterback in the offseason, with most analysts speculating that they would make him the highest-paid player in NFL history, with a salary reaching or eclipsing $60 million a year.
Recently, team owner Jerry Jones doubled down on his belief in Prescott and his ability to lead the team to the top, stating that he honestly feels like he can win them a Super Bowl.
That’s why Pro Football Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe believes it’s time he puts his money where his mouth is.
Talking on the latest edition of ESPN’s First Take, Sharpe compared Prescott’s situation with a relationship, stating that a man can tell a woman that he loves them for years, but she won’t believe him until he puts a ring on her finger.

He believes the only way an employer can show his faith in his employee is by giving him money, thus, it’s time Jones signs Prescott to a new deal.
Whether Prescott is deserving of $60 million a year or not is a completely different conversation.
He hasn’t proved that he can get the job done when it matters the most or against winning teams.
Then again, he’s the best option the Cowboys have at this moment, so they might have no choice but to meet those conditions and sign him to a record-breaking deal.
If they truly believe in him, that should be no problem.
