The Dallas Cowboys looked like one of the teams to beat in the NFC once the NFL playoffs got underway last season, with Dak Prescott and company sporting the second seed in the conference behind the San Francisco 49ers and having the advantage of starting the postseason on their home field of AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Unfortunately for Dallas, Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers came to play in the first round of the playoffs, resulting in Matt LaFleur’s squad getting the best of Mike McCarthy’s team in convincing fashion.
With the Packers crushing the Cowboys in the first round, there were a lot of questions surrounding the immediate future of Prescott and McCarthy in Dallas, but they have since been answered.
McCarthy was given a pass and will return for the 2024 campaign, while Prescott is in line to sign another lucrative long-term deal with the team, which would reset the quarterback market.
Former NFL star LeSean McCoy thinks the Cowboys are making a mistake by holding onto and signing Prescott to another contract, via “Speak” on FS1.

Although Prescott is coming off a season in which he received some NFL MVP buzz, he hasn’t been able to deliver for the Cowboys during the postseason, which is what it is all about.
If Prescott can’t get it done in the playoffs, especially with the team as talented as it is on both sides of the football right now, it may be time to move on, but longtime owner Jerry Jones remains insistent on keeping him under center.
