The Philadelphia Eagles made one of the biggest moves of the NFL offseason.
They signed Saquon Barkley as a free agent, luring him away from a divisional rival, and bolstering their running game.
The Eagles don’t usually spend big bucks on running backs, but a player of Barkley’s caliber isn’t available that often.
Considering that, HC Nick Sirianni revealed his thoughts about this addition.
When asked about his fit, he stated that great players always find a way to fit the scheme (via Eliot Shorr-Parks).
“Amazing players fit well into schemes,” Sirianni said.

But more than that, it’s not like his coaching staff didn’t know him very well.
He compared it to when they acquired star WR AJ Brown from the Tennessee Titans, stating that they follow them closely to see what they do well and how they can adapt them to their own teams.
He also added that his offensive coaching staff is working around the clock to make the most of his talent and that he’s very excited about the prospect of having him on his team.
Barkley has been one of the best and most impactful running backs in the game for quite a while.
The only thing holding him back or lowering his market value was his proneness to get hurt.
Now, he’ll play behind a much better offensive line and alongside some elite offensive players, and that should be a scary thought for the rest of the league.
The Eagles are coming off a heartbreaking end to the season, and they’ll have a big chip on their shoulders in 2023.
