For most of his career, Kyler Murray has been a bit of a polarizing figure among NFL fans and scouts.
Some thought he had the potential to be a disruptive dual-threat offensive force, while others questioned his lack of size and injury-proneness.
More than that, there have been multiple worrisome reports about his leadership — or lack thereof — and work ethic, not to mention countless fan-led investigations about his love for e-sports and video games.
Nonetheless, it seems like so far, so good between him and HC Jonathan Gannon.
Recently, the second-year coach claimed that Murray has done absolutely everything they’ve asked him to do, adding that they’ve hit it off from a standpoint of respect and care (Via Mike Garafolo).
“Everything we’ve asked of him, he’s gone above and beyond. … From a standpoint of respect and love and care, we hit it off. We feel really good about where he is and where he wants to go,” Gannon said.

Murray wasn’t able to play much last season as he recovered from injury.
The Cardinals showed some signs of promise, but they’re still far behind in terms of contention, especially within their own division.
Moreover, they don’t have much of a solid supporting cast for the former No. 1 pick.
They could take a big step towards that in the upcoming NFL Draft, as they hold the No. 4 selection and are heavily expected to draft Ohio State star Marvin Harrison Jr.
This could be a make-or-break season for Murray.
He has barely produced since signing that controversial contract extension, and his reputation has taken a big hit over the past couple of years, so the organization might choose to move on from him if he doesn’t deliver in 2024.
