The Kansas City Chiefs just suffered a major setback in their pursuit of their three-peat.
Trading star CB L’Jarius Sneed to the Tennessee Titans was a tough decision.
The star defensive back was granted permission to seek a trade, as the team was tight against the salary cap.
He wanted to stay in Kansas City, but he didn’t want to play under the franchise tag, so the team had no choice but to grant him his wish.
With that in mind, HC Andy Reid admitted that it was a tough loss for them.
Talking to NFL insider Paul Kuharsky, he stated that it’s ‘ridiculous’ what teams have to go through because of the salary cap.

He claimed that as good a player he was, Sneed was a better human being, calling him one of his all-time favorite guys.
Reid also praised his game by acknowledging his ability to go against the opposition’s best wide receiver, calling him a lockdown guy.
The Chiefs still have Trent McDuffie to anchor their secondary defense, as well as one of the absolute best defensive coordinators in Steve Spagnuolo.
They also managed to keep star DT Chris Jones on board for the long run, which was their No. 1 priority heading into the offseason.
All things considered, losing Sneed seemed inevitable at this point, although it seems like they could’ve asked for a significantly more valuable return.
Now, they’ll have to adapt and adjust as they pursue NFL history and another Super Bowl win.
