After a better-than-expected 2023 NFL season, the Los Angeles Rams seem to have a bright future moving forward, as Sean McVay’s squad may not be done being a perennial playoff team in the NFC.
Even though the recent retirement of superstar defensive tackle Aaron Donald was a massive blow to the team defensively and leadership in the locker room, Los Angeles may still be a force to be reckoned with in 2024 and beyond.
During the NBA offseason so far, the Rams have addressed the quarterback position by bringing in some insurance behind star Matthew Stafford with the signing of veteran journeyman Jimmy Garoppolo, formerly of the Las Vegas Raiders.
However, the team might not be done there, as it is not beyond the realm of possibility that the team will address its future at the most important position on the football field.
According to Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report, the Rams could be a “sleeper team” to draft quarterback Michael Penix Jr. out of the University of Washington via The Pat McAfee Show.
“I think a potential sleeper team for Michael Penix is the Rams,” Schultz said.

With Stafford not getting any younger at 36 and dealing with injuries on a seemingly annual basis, the Rams bringing in a promising young rookie quarterback isn’t a bad idea unless the team has any position that needs to be addressed.
Now that the Rams have a prolific passing game with two of the best wide receivers in the game, Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua, securing the future of the quarterback could be a smart move for Los Angeles.
