The Dallas Cowboys are stuck in a cycle, and it’s been like that for years now.
They’ve been quite good in the regular season, but they have nothing to show it.
Now, they’ve seemed reluctant to sign Dak Prescott to a contract extension, with some people thinking they might let him walk away in free agency.
Notably, that includes former QB Dan Orlovsky.
Talking on ESPN’s Get Up, the former Detroit Lion claimed that unless the Cowboys get to the NFC Championship Game and play well, this will be the last chance for both Mike McCarthy and Dak Prescott.
“Unless the Cowboys get to the NFC Championship game and play well, this is the last year for Mike McCarthy in Dallas and certainly the last year for Dak Prescott as a Dallas Cowboy,” Orlovsky said.

He predicted that Prescott would play well next season, and that could leave the Cowboys with two choices.
They could either agree to pay him north of $65 million per year and still have no Super Bowls to show for it, or they could risk losing him and not getting anything in return.
That’s why he believes the table is set for a reset in Arlington.
That actually makes perfect sense.
It was kind of shocking to see that Jerry Jones didn’t fire McCarthy after the heartbreaking loss to the Green Bay Packers, especially after stating that he would assess his continuity on a game-to-game basis.
Now, the fact that they didn’t rush to sign Prescott to an extension as expected, might be a sign of what’s to come in JerryWorld.
Finally, the clock is ticking, and patience is running out, not only for the fans but also within the organization.
