The NFL’s pre-draft process has changed a lot in recent history.
In the past, going to the Combine or participating in a Pro Day was seen as a big deal, an opportunity for prospects to showcase their skills.
However, whether it is due to the social media age or a cultural shift, there is less emphasis placed on these events by the players.
Some of the top prospects choose to either compete in a limited capacity at one or both of these events, and some even decline to participate at all.
This seems to be the case for Rome Odunze, who is one of the top wide receiver prospects in the 2024 NFL Draft class.
As reporter Pete Thamel indicates, Odunze is not going to participate in Washington’s Pro Day.
Instead, as Thamel writes, “Odunze plans to stand on his performance at the NFL Combine in February, where he performed all of the wide receiver drills and ran a 4.45 40-yard dash.”

It will be interesting to see if Odunze’s absence from the Pro Day will impact his draft stock.
He is currently ranked among the top-five receivers in the class, and while many project him to be a top-ten pick, teams might not like that he opted out of this additional opportunity for him to showcase his skills.
Fans won’t have to wait long to see what happens to the highly regarded receiver, with the draft just around the corner.
This year’s class is filled with a lot of fun players, meaning that this year’s draft could be especially noteworthy.
