Wink Martindale has a rich coaching history at the collegiate and NFL levels.
Martindale has been a coach in some capacity since 1986, spending time with small schools, large institutions, and, of course, NFL teams.
He recently became the defensive coordinator for the Michigan Wolverines, the reigning national champions.
Before that, Martindale was the defensive coordinator for the New York Giants.
While Martindale is well known for his football mind, his most recent off-field endeavors have also generated considerable buzz and excitement.
Martindale joined Twitter, and his first tweet had over two million views in less than 24 hours.
Should have never given me a twitter #BuckleUp
Those who retweet will be Champions

In this tweet, Martindale said, “Those who retweet will be Champions,” a nod to his new coaching assignment.
Martindale hasn’t been a coach at the collegiate level since 2003, so it will be interesting to see how he performs at Michigan.
The NFL might be a higher level of football than college, but coaching is a different experience.
Transitioning to the NCAA from the NFL has gone well historically, and with Michigan coming off its national title, Martindale is stepping into a favorable situation.
The team did lose Jim Harbaugh as head coach, which could come with its own unique set of challenges.
Michigan will have an almost entirely new staff, which can have its ups and downs, especially as new players enter the fold.
The Big 10 continues to be a difficult conference, but if Michigan can have success in their first year with their new regime, it bodes well for their future as a college football powerhouse.
