This NFL Draft class is stacked at the quarterback position.
It’s been years since we saw so many potential stars at this position, which is why it’s been so hard to evaluate.
Scouts have gone back and forth with multiple prospects, and while several look like can’t-miss talents, we know there’s no such thing in the National Football League.
Considering that, former NFL QB Dan Orlovsky stated that, although that doesn’t mean he’s going to be the best quarterback in this class, J.J. McCarthy is the most NFL-ready right now.

Talking on First Take, Orlovsky started by explaining that he hates the ‘NFL-ready’ term because a scout’s job isn’t to find the most NFL-ready player as much as it is to find the player who’s more likely to have a long and successful career.
Then, he stated that the age difference in the NFL and the previous experience from players often makes rookies struggle when they turn pro, adding that McCarthy has been a vocal leader and a mature player, not to mention the fact that he was in a locker room with Jim Harbaugh, so he should fare well there.
More than that, he thinks that his experience in the running game, his play-action game, and the fact that he’s often partaken in the huddle, gives him plenty of understanding and control at the line of scrimmage.
He still believes Jayden Daniels is the best quarterback in this class, but McCarthy might be more ready to make an impact right out of the gate, even if he doesn’t end up having a better career.
