The New York Giants have a decision to make regarding Daniel Jones.
There have been conflicting reports about their quarterback.
He’s expected to be back to full strength for the start of the NFL season, but some rumors claim they’re not high on him anymore.
With that in mind, it shouldn’t be much of a surprise to see them doing their due diligence on several prospects.
According to a report by Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network, HC Brian Daboll will be watching Washington star Michael Penix Jr., all while they have some representatives keeping tabs on UNC’s Drake Maye.
The #Giants have a presence here at UNC today but Brian Daboll went to UW to see Michael Penix. Sources say the team will work out and meet with Drake Maye in the coming days. https://t.co/WAUTEiKxZ8

Per Garafolo, the Giants will meet with Maye later in the week.
The Giants will be on the clock at No. 6, so their chances of getting Maye are quite slim.
He’s been projected to go either No. 2 or No. 3 in most draft boards, so they would have to trade up with either the Washington Commanders or New England Patriots, and that seems quite unlikely at this point.
As for Penix, he’s projected to go late in the first round or early in the second round, so he could be a more feasible target for the Giants.
He’s an elite pocket passer who showed an ability to put up numbers in a hurry, but his age and history of injuries are major concerns for scouts.
Then again, if they like what they see, they might feel like the risk is worth taking, especially if they’re not sold on their current QB1.
