The San Francisco 49ers had another successful year this past NFL season, with the team now knowing they have a legitimate star quarterback in Brock Purdy and one of the best defenses in the game led by Nick Bosa.
Although the 49ers fell short in the Super Bowl by losing to Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada, San Francisco has a bright future ahead as long as they can keep their team intact and add key pieces to the championship puzzle.
Although defensive lineman Arik Armstead seemed to be one of those important pieces to the puzzle on the defensive side of the football, the team wanted him to take a sizable pay cut during this NFL offseason in order to stay in San Francisco moving forward.
As a result, Armstead left the team and signed a lucrative long-term deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars, but he did feel a bit disrespected by the 49ers before leaving the Bay Area to join forces with Trevor Lawrence and company in Florida via Dov Kleiman.

The #Jaguars later signed him on a 3-year $51M deal.

Unfortunately, this kind of thing happens all the time in the NFL, especially when it comes to legitimate title contenders like the 49ers, which have massive payrolls.
In order for these teams to maintain their status as title contenders, the franchise has to make moves during the offseason, and Armstead seems to be a casualty.
However, it may have worked in the player’s favor, as he did get a massive deal to join the Jaguars.
