Over the past few months, there’s been a lot of debate about the top prospects at the quarterback position in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft, with Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, Jayden Daniels, and J.J. McCarthy getting a lot of buzz heading toward draft day on April 25.
With less than a month to go until the draft gets underway, the consensus seems to be that Williams will go No. 1 to the Chicago Bears, while it is anyone’s guess who will go No. 2 overall to the Washington Commanders and beyond.
There are a lot of quarterback-needy teams coming into the draft, which makes this debate interesting, as there could be a number of teams that try to trade up in the draft in order to land one of these potential franchise quarterbacks.
That said, Louis Riddick of ESPN has an interesting ranking for the top quarterback in the draft, as he believes Daniels out of LSU should go No. 1, followed by Williams and Maye at No. 2 and No. 3 via NFL on ESPN.

Obviously, a lot of time will need to go by before we see how things pan out with all of these quarterbacks in this draft class, as last year, C.J. Stroud was clearly the better prospect compared to Bryce Young, who went No. 1 overall to the Carolina Panthers.
It’ll be interesting to see if Riddick is on to something here when he says that Daniels is the better prospect compared to Williams, who is considered to be the best player in the draft by many.
