The 2024 NFL Draft could be a franchise-altering event for many teams.
With the amount of quarterback talent in this class, analysts project several teams to go after the position in the draft, hoping to find the new face of their franchise.
The Washington Commanders currently have the No. 2 overall pick, leaving them right behind the Chicago Bears.
The Bears are projected to take Caleb Williams at No. 1, leaving the Commanders to choose from the rest of the field.
David Carr recently appeared on NFL Total Acess, where he was asked about the Commanders and what quarterback would be a good fit for him.
When asked about Drake Maye as a possible fit, he said, “That actually makes the most sense to me.”

Maye significantly increased his draft stock during his final season at UNC, a prospect who has shot up draft boards.
Some analysts have him as low as No. 5 among the quarterback prospects, but Carr seems to believe that he would be a great fit in Washington.
The Commanders have been desperately trying to find a new starting quarterback for several seasons.
They’ve tried to make several players work, but there hasn’t been a player to establish themself in this offense.
However, the organization has faced some inner turmoil as of late, which might have been a reason for the team not being as successful as they might have hoped.
Things have seemingly turned around for this team’s culture, and if a quarterback like Maye can live up to the hype, he just might be able to turn this Commanders team around.
