The New York Jets are hoping to avoid having another forgettable season in 2024, with the team doing everything within its power to surround superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers with as much talent as possible in order to turn this squad into a legitimate title contender next season.
Fortunately for Rodgers, New York has made some considerable upgrades thus far, with the team adding Mike Williams to the receiving corps and bolstering the offensive line with the addition of five-time All-Pro left tackle Tyron Smith.
Along with making some solid additions on the offensive side of the football, the Jets are also addressing the defense, with the team acquiring veteran linebacker Haason Reddick in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Jets sent a conditional three-round pick in 2026 to the Eagles in exchange for Reddick, who can become a free agent after the 2024 campaign and could leave the team, which would result in New York getting a compensatory pick.
Haason Reddick does not have a new deal with the Jets and is now entering the last year of his contract. If the Jets don’t extend him and he leaves in free agency, the Jets would get a compensatory pick. So they’re giving up a pick and if they lose him, would get one back. https://t.co/annxZ6y7ii

Over the last four years, Reddick has become one of the best pass rushers in the game, as he has consistently been able to record double-digit sack totals while playing for the Arizona Cardinals, Carolina Panthers, and Eagles.
Reddick earned Pro Bowl honors in both of the seasons he played with the Eagles before getting moved to the Jets on Friday, as he was able to record 11.0 sacks, one pass defensed, and 29 solo tackles.
The 29-year-old linebacker will be a welcome addition to the Jets defense, which is already considered to be a force to be reckoned with in the AFC.
