It’s only been a few weeks into the NFL free agency period, but there’s been a lot of player movement within that time, with many players either re-signing with their teams or moving on to greener pastures.
Even though there have already been a lot of talented players in the league that have signed new deals, there are still quite a few notable players still left on the open market, especially on the defensive side of the football.
With the 2024 NFL Draft only a few weeks away on April 25, a lot of teams around the league might be waiting to see how things pan out on draft day before committing to veteran players in free agency.
In the meantime, there’s only been speculation as to what free agents might be landing where with quite a few talented safeties and cornerbacks available, starting with Justin Simmons, Xavien Howard, Stephon Gilmore, Julian Blackmon, and Steven Nelson.
In a recent tweet by PFF, the best landing spots were named for all the players mentioned above, with Gilmore being mentioned as a good fit for the Detroit Lions.

The Lions are coming off the team’s best season in franchise history and Jared Goff and company were able to make it to the NFC Championship Game and come just shy of punching their ticket to the Super Bowl to face the Kansas City Chiefs.
Even though the Lions offense is about as good as it gets in the NFL, Detroit is sorely lacking on defense and would be wise to look into signing one of these talented defensive players available, with Gilmore being a solid option at corner.
