After the disaster that was the 2023 season, the New York Jets have made a move that could help them compete for a playoff spot this coming season when they traded for outside linebacker Haason Reddick from the Philadelphia Eagles.
New York already had plenty of talent on the defensive side of the football, but now their pass rush attack should take a step forward.
Per Jordan Schultz, the general manager of another AFC team called Reddick a “great get for them.”

Reddick, 29, has been named to the Pro Bowl in both of the last two seasons, and during that time, he has totaled 27.0 sacks, 49 quarterback hits, 24 tackles for loss, and five forced fumbles.
The Jets tried to cling to respectability last year after Aaron Rodgers tore his Achilles in Week 1 with their defense, and for a minute in October, they were having some success.
Despite winning just seven games all season, they finished in the top four in passing yards, passing touchdowns, and first downs allowed.
Three of New York’s defenders — defensive lineman Quinnen Williams, linebacker Jermaine Johnson II, and cornerback Sauce Gardner — were named to the Pro Bowl in 2023, while linebacker Quincy Williams got an All-Pro First-Team nod.
If Rodgers returns and plays at a high level, and everyone stays relatively healthy, the team could do well next season, especially with the addition of potent wide receiver Mike Williams.
