Breakups are always tough, but they can also be the start of a beautiful new beginning.
The Kansas City Chiefs made headlines last week when they sent star cornerback L’Jarius Sneed to the Tennessee Titans for a 2025 third-round pick, and after the trade was officially finalized, one of his closest teammates is ready to officially say goodbye.
Fellow cornerback Trent McDuffie took to X yesterday to praise Sneed for being the “coldest in the business” and to tell him to “keep solidifying your legacy.”

Sneed and McDuffie quickly developed into one of the league’s most effective corner duos since McDuffie joined the team two years ago, as he is now two for two with a pair of Super Bowl victories already.
Sneed was rumored to possibly be on his way out after signing the franchise tag earlier this offseason, and a deal finally came to fruition which led to him signing the big contract extension he was looking for as Tennessee gave him a 4-year, $76 million deal.
The star corner leaves a defense that was second in the NFL in yards allowed and points allowed to join a rapidly rebuilding franchise that is desperately in need of his services.
Sneed posted 10 interceptions, 6.5 sacks, and four forced fumbles in his four years in KC and his departure now opens the door for McDuffie to step in and be the No. 1 corner.
McDuffie clearly looked up to Sneed, and it showed by his playstyle as he is also an aggressive tackler and irritating cover corner.
KC now looks to see who they’ll pair with McDuffie next.
