Nothing helps a young quarterback quite like a strong tight end, and two of the best in the league in Joe Burrow and CJ Stroud are lucky enough to have reliable veterans at the position to throw the ball to.
That being said, their respective Bengals and Texans could be in the market for another young tight end in the draft.
According to analyst Justin M of The Draft Network, both teams met with South Carolina tight end prospect Trey Knox in person the night before his Pro Day.

Knox has reportedly also met virtually with the Broncos, Cardinals, Chargers, and Vikings.
Knox’s production in college was minuscule, as the fifth-year senior posted just 11 touchdowns in his five years in college on 118 catches.
The Bengals signed Mike Gesicki this offseason and the Texans re-signed veteran Dalton Schultz to a 3-year deal, so both teams have veterans locked in at tight end, but without much depth behind either of them.
Knox is an undersized tight end at 6’3″ and 240 pounds and ran a rough 4.91 40-yard dash at his Pro Day.
That 40 time is damaging enough that it could cause him to go undrafted, as the combination of being an undersized tight end and being slow is tough to overcome.
The Texans have three picks in the seventh round, while the Bengals have one, so either one could choose to take Knox instead of hoping to be able to sign him as an undrafted free agent.
It’s a good sign for Knox’s draft stock that he is having this many meetings, as he’ll need to do everything he can to compensate for that 4.91.
