Having a family member in the NFL can be difficult for eligible prospects.
This puts a lot of pressure on young players, as they want to live up to the potential of their parent, sibling, or other relative.
If their family member was one of the best players in the league, it can be challenging for prospects to wrap their brain around that level of production, making for the potential of a rocky start in the league.
This seemed to be the case for Tua Tagovailoa’s brother, Taulia.
He struggled at his recent Pro Day, which led several scouts to give his prospect profile a negative review.
According to reporter Tony Pauline via Dov Kleiman, “Taulia Tagovailoa threw for scouts and has received tepid reviews. Tagovailoa showed little arm talent, and his deep passes displayed little speed and even fluttered according to those on hand.”

It’s not a great look for someone trying to get their foot in the door to join an NFL roster.
Tagovailoa had some good moments at the University of Maryland, but as a whole, his collegiate film leaves something to be desired.
It will be interesting to see if his name recognition will get him anywhere in the NFL or if he will end up undrafted.
This year’s class of quarterbacks is one of the strongest in recent history, which could make it especially hard for Tagovailoa to make a splash at the position, break through, and find a suitor interested in helping him grow.
