It’s no secret that the Washington Commanders are in the market for a quarterback.
After another season that ended with a suboptimal result, the Commanders are back to the drawing board at one of the most important positions in the sport.
They haven’t found the consistency at the position they have been looking for, but this year’s draft could help them in the right direction.
With the draft less than a month away, it appears that most sportsbooks believe the Commanders’ options are down to two players.
As Jaime Eisner pointed out on Twitter, Jayden Daniels is currently -125 to be taken by the Commanders, while Drake Maye’s odds currently sit at -115, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
It’s now a toss-up for which QB will be drafted by the Washington Commanders with the No. 2 pick:
Jayden Daniels (-125)
Drake Maye (-115)

This indicates that the odds are practically the same at this point, with sportsbooks having a slight lean towards Daniels.
Daniels is the reigning Heisman Trophy winner, and many believe he presents an interesting ceiling for a prospective NFL team.
If it is the Commanders, Daniels could help them unlock their offense, as he is known as a running quarterback who also has a talented arm.
This could present a Lamar Jackson-level ceiling for this team, something that NFL organizations have tried to re-create.
Maye is also a highly-touted prospect, although he isn’t as well known for his rushing prowess.
Maye is seen as more of a traditional passer, which could also make sense for a team like the Commanders, who already have a lot of young pass-catchers who are waiting for a consistent thrower every week.
