The 2023 NFL season didn’t turn out as well as the Philadelphia Eagles expected.
After a quick start to the year, many expected the Eagles to run through the NFC, slated to represent the conference in the Super Bowl for the second straight season.
However, the team spiraled and collapsed in the second half of the year.
They did make the playoffs despite their struggles, but they weren’t able to gain any traction when they got there, losing in the Wild Card round.
There were many aspects of the Eagles’ roster that might have caused this collapse, but many have pointed to Jalen Hurts as a big reason for their downfall.
After hearing this hate, Willie Colon spoke out about it on The Carton Show, saying, “Jalen Hurts is still developing.”

Colon believes that there was a lot of pressure on Hurts to succeed in 2023, especially since he was coming off a massive contract extension.
Before the extension, he was able to play a bit looser, but after being inked to a massive deal, there are a lot of expectations and pressure to play well to ensure that the team made the right call with their investment.
With Hurts’ passing numbers looking similar to Geno Smith’s over the past two years, Colon and the rest of the team believe Hurts can step up in 2024 and prove his doubters wrong.
He might not have lit up the stat sheet last season, but if he can turn things around in 2024, all will likely be forgotten.
