After sitting behind superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers for three seasons with the Green Bay Packers, Jordan Love got a chance to prove his worth as the undisputed starting quarterback last year after the team traded Rodgers to the New York Jets before the 2023 NFL regular season.
Although things were shaky with Love under center during the first half of the 2023 campaign, the Utah State product came into his own in the second half of the season and led the Packers to the NFL playoffs and an impressive upset win over the Dallas Cowboys in the first round.
Love proved that the Packers once again had been able to replace a superstar with a player who was ready to become one, and now there are questions about whether the team should sign him to a lucrative long-term deal sooner rather than later.
Although Love has only had one successful season thus far as a starter, former NFL wide receiver James Jones of FOX Sports believes the team needs to pay their new superstar under center, via “Speak” on FS1.
“Give Jordan Love that money,” Jones said. “I watched Jordan Love very, very closely the whole season. You are going to have your ups and downs as he did, but he is a superstar. Pay that man like a superstar.”

Although it appears the Packers have another gem at the quarterback position, who might be able to lead the team for the next decade or more, Green Bay hasn’t engaged in contract talks with Love.
Only time will tell how the Packers handle the contract situation with Love and whether they believe he is truly the real deal.
