The 2023 season did not pan out as expected for the Los Angeles Chargers.
Justin Herbert’s injury threw a wrench into the team’s plans, and with a backup taking over, it was hard for the Chargers to gain traction down the stretch.
The team ended up firing it’s head coach and GM, hoping a change in both roles could help it’s chances in 2024 once Herbert got healthy again.
Jim Harbaugh was signed as their newest signal-caller, someone with extensive NFL and NCAA experience who fans have already expressed excitement about.
Harbaugh put out a statement via the team on Tuesday, April 2nd, indicating how he feels about his first few days with the team.
“It’s been locked, cocked, ready to rock,” Harbaugh said.

While the season hasn’t officially started yet, Harbaugh has already brought a certain energy to this team that has been lacking from their head coach.
If he can keep this going throughout the offseason, he will easily win over the roster, allowing his players to trust him with whatever he throws their way.
The Chargers have several young players on their roster, but they’ve been unable to combine them into a tangible, cohesive season to this point.
Can Harbaugh end up being the difference for this team down the stretch?
That remains to be seen.
But, armed with the No. 5 pick in the draft and a can-do attitude from Harbaugh, the sky is the limit for the Chargers moving forward.
They’ll still have to contend with Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC West, one of their biggest roadblocks to success.
