With Chicago holding both the No. 1 and the No. 9 selections in the 2024 NFL Draft, the Bears have plenty of options to pair two potential superstars early in their careers.
Almost every mock draft has former USC quarterback Caleb Williams as the presumptive top pick later this month.
Could Chicago try to pair Williams with a player many consider the top wide receiver in the 2024 draft class?
Sky Kruse of the Bears Wire reported Wednesday that Chicago will host former Washington Huskies wide receiver Rome Odunze Thursday for a top 30 visit.

Pairing Williams with Odunze is a popular theory gaining momentum for many NFL draft analysts as the quarterback-receiver tandem could play together for at least four seasons at a reduced salary.
Odunze was a Biletnikoff Award finalist last season after catching 92 passes for 1,640 yards and 13 touchdowns.
Adding Odunze would be the cherry on top of the Bears’ offense, especially after their blockbuster trade to acquire former Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen last month.
Allen is a six-time Pro Bowler that has six 1,000-yard seasons in his 11-year career.
While Odunze should make an immediate impact for Chicago’s next quarterback, another talented wide receiver is not a necessity with Allen in the mix.
The Bears could eye a defensive player to pair with Williams, and Odunze is certain to be a coveted player after his 2023 season.
Either way, Thursday’s meeting with Odunze feels like the Bears are doing their due diligence by talking with the wide receiver should he be available at the No. 9 selection later this month.
