The Chicago Bears have been in desperate need of a franchise quarterback for many years.
Some believed the team had found their guy with Justin Fields, but seeing that they traded him to the Pittsburgh Steelers, that is no longer the case.
The Bears have shifted their focus to the 2024 NFL Draft, as they currently hold the No. 1 overall pick heading into the big event.
Many expect them to take Caleb Williams, who has been identified as the top prospect in this class for several years.
While the Bears haven’t mentioned this outright, their actions indicate that they are strongly leaning toward taking him.
As Mark Silverman indicated via analyst Brendan Sugrue, the Bears had dinner with Williams on April 3rd, which included several current players on the roster.
.@WaddleandSilvy just revealed Caleb Williams was in town last night with the Bears front office and had dinner with some current players.

This dinner could be to go over the team’s prospective plans for the upcoming year, as well as for Williams to have a brainstorming session with his prospective teammates.
The Bears have used a lot of resources over the past two years to build this team up and are seemingly a quarterback away from making some noise in the NFC North.
Williams hasn’t necessarily tipped his hand on which team he wants to go to, but the Bears’ pursuit of him is a public affair.
They have continued to roll out the red carpet for him, which has caused Williams to have limited visits and meetings with other teams.
Unless he makes an Eli Manning-like request, it seems like the Bears will be rolling out Wiliams as their starting quarterback for the 2024 season.
