Baseball is, without a doubt, a game for the senses.
One can almost smell the freshly cut grass, see the stadium packed, and taste a traditional ballpark hotdog.
However, it’s important to include the sounds in this particular equation.
During Wednesday’s game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Francisco Giants, Shohei Ohtani gave us all a concert of sounds when he hit his first home run with his new team.

First of all, let’s point out the fact that his batted balls sound like fireworks when they are well-struck.
This one, of course, wasn’t going to be the exception: those who could hear it knew that ball was going to travel far.
And it did, which prompted the other beautiful sound of the clip: the crowd clapping and screaming, celebrating Ohtani’s feat.
The home run was key to the Dodgers’ victory: the game finished 5-4, so it proved to be the difference between the two teams.
The Dodgers now lead the NL West with their 7-2 record after Wednesday’s win.
With the kind of roster they have, it will be very difficult to knock them from that spot.
As for Ohtani, he is still slashing a relatively modest .270/.317/.432 with a .750 OPS even after the big fly.
Those numbers certainly aren’t bad, but fall well short of what he has done over his MLB career.
He should catch fire eventually and resemble the player that won two AL MVP awards with the Los Angeles Angels.
Perhaps Wednesday’s game, and moment, were all he needed to kickstart his season.
