The New England Patriots are one of the many teams with a high pick in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft that are in need of a quarterback, with the team recently moving on from Mac Jones and signing veteran Jacoby Brissett as a stopgap.
With that said, the Patriots are doing their due diligence in the final weeks leading up to the draft to evaluate the best quarterbacks in this draft class outside of USC superstar Caleb Williams, who appears to be headed to the Chicago Bears, who own the No. 1 overall pick on April 25.
Currently, New England owns the No. 3 overall pick in the upcoming draft, which potentially puts them in the conversation to draft one of three quarterbacks: Drake Maye, Jayden Daniels, or J.J. McCarthy.
According to Albert Breer of MMQB, the Patriots are bringing Maye in for a visit on Friday, who could be there for the taking at No. 3 if the Washington Commanders elect to go in a different direction.
The Patriots are hosting North Carolina QB Drake Maye on a 30 visit tomorrow at Gillette Stadium, per sources. New England holds the third overall pick, and met with Maye at the combine, and again before his pro day in Chapel Hill.

As of right now, the consensus seems to be that Maye will be drafted by the Commanders, with many believing he’s the second-best quarterback prospect in the draft behind Williams.
However, in the event that Maye drops to No. 3, the Patriots will want to keep their options open in case the team likes something he brings to the table over Daniels or McCarthy.
It’s safe to say that the Patriots will do the same with Daniels, as he seems to be the most likely candidate taken at No. 3.
