Being a 24-year-old five-year starting quarterback should make NFL scouts and teams think you’re ready to turn pro.
Nonetheless, today’s game is all about potential and not so much about what a player could do right away.
That’s why not many people are high on Bo Nix, who’s 24 already.
Scouts have plenty of footage of his game, and the consensus seems to be that he’s pretty much a finished product.
Nonetheless, talking to Robert Griffin III, the former Auburn and Oregon quarterback stated that those who think that way of him haven’t actually watched the product.
“What’s often lost is QBs are often a product of their environment and their situation. Those who say I’m a finished product, they really haven’t watched the product,” Nix said.

Nix stated that he’d added new layers and things to his game every single year dating back to the eighth grade, adding that some people don’t realize that oftentimes, quarterbacks are a byproduct of their environment.
He’s got a valid point to a degree.
The fact of the matter is that he would’ve turned pro before if he had been ready, but that wasn’t the case.
A team could do a whole lot worse than getting Nix, and he’s by no means a bad quarterback.
Then again, being three full years older than some other quarterback prospects clearly puts him at a disadvantage; it’s as simple as that.
Whether he’s a finished product or not remains to be seen, and most athletes don’t even reach their primes until they are 27 or 28, so his age shouldn’t be the only factor to consider in this equation.
Still, he’ll just have to prove that there’s more to it than what we’ve seen thus far.
