The New England Patriots have scored three points in their past two games combined.
Their offense is completely out of sync, and it doesn’t seem like they have the right personnel to turn things around right now.
With that in mind, Colin Cowherd asked former Patriots great Julian Edelman whether it would be fair to say that it’s time the Patriots take some responsibilities away from Bill Belichick and bring in some fresh eyes to build the roster.
Edelman admitted that Belichick could use some help on the offensive side of the ball, as their defensive picks have often been spot-on.
“We have whiffed on a lot of offensive skill position players… I’m still a little shook on the Jakobi Meyers departure.”

However, when it comes to the skill players, he believes they’ve dropped the ball multiple times with the guys they’ve picked and the ones they’ve passed on.
Moreover, he admitted that he’s still a little shocked to see that they moved on from Jakobi Meyers, stating that he’s great at creating separation, which has been an ongoing issue for Pats receivers.
Edelman stated that, as hard as he’s been on Mac Jones, it’s also hard for a quarterback when none of his receivers can create any sort of separation.
Truth be told, the Patriots should consider having someone else make personnel-based decisions, as Belichick has never been known for his offensive expertise.
Moreover, his inability or reluctance to adapt to today’s game could only continue to hurt this team going forward.
That’s assuming Robert Kraft even gives him another chance and doesn’t fire him at the end of the season.
