The quarterbacks and wide receivers seem to be getting all the attention atop the 2024 NFL Draft, which is understandable given the fact that there are multiple Heisman trophy winners and two all-time great WRs available this year.
Lost in the sauce is the fact that this is also a deep and loaded offensive tackle market, with the projected first tackle off the board working to solidify his place in the top 5-7 picks of the draft.
Analyst Greg Cosell had some criticism for the consensus first tackle off the board, calling Notre Dame’s Joe Alt “much more of an athletic finesse player than a physical player…more passive than aggressive.”

Cosell added that Alt doesn’t have a ton of experience playing left tackle, as he used to play tight end as well.
Cosell also questioned the strike power in his hands and body and painted his overall pass protection ability as passive.
“He’s a good athlete, but he’s not Joe Thomas,” he added.
Alt has all the tools coaches look for in a left tackle, as the size and production are undeniable.
Alt measured in at 6’9″ and 321 pounds at the NFL Combine, running a 5.05 40-yard dash and putting up 27 reps on the bench press.
He only allowed four sacks in three college seasons in 1,105 pass-blocking snaps, a tremendous number that should have offensive line coaches around the league salivating.
One spot Alt is projected to land in many mock drafts is the Tennessee Titans at No. 7, who had the worst left tackle production in the NFL last season and just hired legendary offensive line coach Bill Callahan to work with his son, new head coach Brian Callahan.
