The Green Bay Packers organization has a long legacy that is unrivaled by any in the NFL with decades of incredible leadership on the field, in the front office, and within the coaching staff.
This organization is a family, and unfortunately, that family got a little bit smaller this week.
The Packers’ official X account announced that longtime offensive line coach Larry Beightol passed away on Thursday, April 4th, at the age of 81.
Larry Beightol, offensive line coach of the #Packers from 1999-2005, died Thursday, April 4.

The former coach passed in Fayetteville, Arkansas due to heart failure, dementia, and complications from diabetes.
Beightol coached the team’s offensive line from 1999 to 2005 where he made the playoffs four times in seven seasons.
Beightol spent 22 years in the NFL coaching offensive lines across eight different organizations, including the Atlanta Falcons, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, San Diego Chargers, New York Jets, Houston Oilers, Miami Dolphins, Green Bay Packers, and Detroit Lions.
He was originally hired by head coach Ray Rhodes in 1999 but then spent six of his seven seasons with the team under head coach Mike Sherman.
While in Green Bay, Beightol coached multiple players who wound up making the Packers Hall of Fame, including Frank Winters, Marco Rivera, Chad Clifton, Mark Tauscher, and Mike Flanagan.
Green Bay was the last stop on the road for Beightol, who retired after he finished his coaching tenure with the Packers.
It’s a tough day for the Packers organization and its fans, and long-time fans can take solace in the fact that this man lived a long successful life and gave everything he had to each team he worked for along the way.
