The Philadelphia Eagles have gone through a bit of a tumultuous offseason and are navigating difficult waters after last season’s collapse and a complicated stretch of free agency.
One key member of the defense is on his way back from a significant injury and shared a promising update implying he should be ready to go for next season.
Safety Sydney Brown spoke with NBC Sports Philadelphia to shed light on his recovery from the torn ACL he suffered last season, and said “I can start working out for you right now if you want to. I feel great…I feel like I’m miles ahead of where I should really be.”
“I feel amazing. I can start working out for you right now if you want to. I feel great… I feel like I’m miles ahead of where I should really be. I will be ready for when the season comes around.”

Brown added, most importantly, “I will be ready for when the season comes around.”
The safety showed lots of promise as a rookie in 2023, posting 45 tackles, a forced fumble, and one 99-yard pick-six in 14 games before tearing his ACL in Week 18 against the Giants.
Brown was drafted in the 3rd round at 66th overall in 2023 and when he returns from injury, he should slide right back into his old role and get plenty of snaps in the secondary.
Philly added C.J. Gardner-Johnson back into the fold after he left for the Detroit Lions for one year.
Gardner-Johnson spent 2022 with the Eagles and was a prized member of a defense that helped lead the team all the way to the Super Bowl.
It’s great to hear Brown is healthy and ready to go for 2024 as he continues to establish himself as a young foundational piece of this secondary.
