The Carolina Panthers better hope that Bryce Young turns out to be good.
Barring a trade, they won’t have a first-round pick in the upcoming edition of the NFL Draft, so they must get creative to find value in the latter rounds.
With that in mind, they’re going to host Western Kentucky WR Malachi Corley for a visit on Monday afternoon, according to a report by Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network.

Standing at 5-foot-10 and 215 pounds, he’s by no means the biggest player in the draft.
He was solid but impressive in the 40-yard dash (4.49) and short shuttle (4.22), so he might be available by the time the Panthers are on the clock, and he’s clearly not in the same tier as the likes of Marvin Harison Jr., Rome Odunze, or Malik Nabers.
Even so, he was a decent and dynamic slot receiver during his days in college, and he managed to do plenty of damage after the catch, averaging 8.6 yards after the catch per reception in his final year in college and 9.7 in the prior campaign.
Corley logged 29 touchdowns during his career with the Hilltoppers, and he did have a reliable pair of hands, which is perhaps his best trait at this point.
The Panthers will also have a new WR1 next season after trading for Diontae Johnson.
Once again, most of their success — or lack thereof — will hinge on whether Bryce Young can take a step forward or not, and that’ll be the biggest storyline in Carolina in 2024.
