This year’s NFL Draft could turn out to be the best one in years, and a number of teams could end up with a potential future Pro Football Hall of Famer from the incoming rookie class.
Most of the attention regarding this year’s draft has been focused on the quarterback and wide receiver positions, but Brock Bowers, the best tight end prospect, could be a special player in his own right.
In fact, Joel Klatt said on his podcast that Bowers is one of the top-five players in this year’s draft class and that he’s “probably going to be the focal point of an offense that can go and win a Super Bowl at some point.”

Klatt also pointed out two tight ends who have played a large role on multiple Super Bowl-winning teams in recent years, Rob Gronkowski and Travis Kelce, as an example of how important the tight end position is.
While Bowers isn’t the most impressive physical specimen (he’s a modest 6-foot-4 and 230 pounds), he was productive in his three seasons at the University of Georgia.
His strengths are believed to be his ability to add yards after the catch and his effort as a run blocker.
It seems very unlikely that he will be one of the first five players chosen in the draft — at least three of them will almost certainly be quarterbacks, and another one is expected to be Marvin Harrison Jr., the dazzling wide receiver from Ohio State.
But some team will still be likely to be very happy with Bowers on its roster.
