The Minnesota Vikings were already in a tough spot before Sunday’s loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Another home loss took their record to 1-4, and while it’s still early in the season, they will have zero margin for error going forward.
To make things even worse, they lost their best player for at least the next month, as superstar WR Justin Jefferson was just placed on Injured Reserve (IR) and could be in for a prolonged absence.
That’s why former NFL star Jeff Saturday believes it’s time the Vikings finally move on from Kirk Cousins and trade him somewhere else so they can focus on the upcoming campaign.

With Jefferson likely missing more than four weeks and their season already looking dead in the water, it makes sense for them to move Cousins’ contract before he walks away as a free agent.
Cousins and the Vikings have rolled with each other through thick and thin, but it’s highly unlikely that he’ll be there next season, all things considered.
He’s not getting any younger and has a history of getting some big contracts, and the Vikings are looking to get both younger and cheaper.
With that in mind, Saturday pointed out the New York Jets as a potential buyer for his services, considering the fact that it would be a rental until Aaron Rodgers is ready to be back in town.
Cousins may not be an elite QB like his paycheck reflects, but he’s better than most people give him credit, and he’d be an upgrade over several starters right now.
