The Seattle Seahawks posted a respectable 47 sacks last season, but only Boye Mafe with nine sacks and Jarran Reed with seven had more than 5.5, so the team still needs to keep hunting for someone who can put up 10+ sacks a year and be a consistently dominant pass rusher.
Reportedly, one of the draft’s premier pass rushers has not one, but two visits scheduled with the Seahawks to try to solve that issue.
NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported that Florida State edge rusher Jared Verse is visiting with the team tonight and tomorrow.

Verse visited the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as well and will also be meeting with the Denver Broncos soon.
Seattle’s need for help at the position is magnified because of the departures of Jordyn Brooks and Bobby Wagner in free agency, and while the team has signed depth pieces to replace them in Jerome Baker and Tyrel Dodson, this defense still needs a young potential star.
That’s exactly what Verse is, as he posted nine sacks for Florida State in each of the last two seasons and is projected to be a mid-first-round pick.
The Seahawks have the 16th pick of the draft, which would be a prime spot to take Verse.
You don’t see a lot of prospects having back-to-back meetings with teams at this juncture, so the Seahawks have to at least be reasonably intrigued by the idea of adding Verse to their defense.
Seattle doesn’t have a second-round pick this year, so they really need to nail their first-rounder.
