As the New England Patriots try to get back on track as an organization, they have made several offseason moves to try and better their roster.
Bill Belichick is no longer their head coach, which allowed Jerod Mayo to return to the team, hoping he can bring the team back to their typical levels of success.
The team has also made a few key roster moves, including moving on from Mac Jones, which will start a new era at the quarterback position.
Another recent move the team has made is to bring Matthew Slater back to the team as an advisor, which Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk highlights.

Slater played for the Patriots throughout his NFL career, retiring in 2023 after 15 seasons with the team.
He will now be back with the team in a new capacity, hoping the knowledge he acquired from his years in the NFL will catch on with some of the young players on the Patriots.
This team will likely have a rookie quarterback under center in 2024, which can result in some growing pains.
No matter how ironclad a prospect looks coming into the league, there is always a chance they can struggle in their rookie campaign.
If that happens, Slater can hopefully be a mentor to that player, understanding the pressure of a first-year player in the NFL.
Between him and Mayo, there should be a lot of leadership and respect extended from the coaching staff to the players, resulting in a much better on-field product for the Patriots this year.
