The Minnesota Vikings aren’t a great football team right now.
Even if they get a new franchise quarterback, it might take a while before whoever they pick gets settled and is ready to lead them back to contention.
That leaves Justin Jefferson in a tough spot.
Jefferson has reportedly turned down several contract extension offers, and there has been a lot of talk about his future.
While the team has made it loud and clear that he’s not available, the fact that he keeps turning down life-changing money raises some eyebrows.
That’s why NFL analyst David Jacoby believes there’s no way he’s going to finish the season in the Twin Cities, going as far as to predict that he’s going to be traded before the trade deadline (via The Carton Show).

That makes sense.
Of course, you never want to trade your best player, and Jefferson is one of the best players in the game.
But the Vikings are multiple pieces away from contending, and with the current state of the NFC North, it will take years before they can keep up with the other teams.
Jefferson is still young, and he could get them an elite return if they decide to move on from him, which is what all rebuilding or retooling teams need to look for in any transaction.
There should be plenty of suitors lining up to try and make a run for the LSU star, and as much as they would hate to do it, it could make the most sense for the Vikings organization.
