The rise and fall of former Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel’s storied football career had some of the most extreme highs and lows of any player in recent memory.
His path has been well documented, and we all remember the magic that was Johnny Football during that incredible freshman season at Texas A&M, but according to him, his lowest was even more drastic.
Manziel went on “Undisputed” today to discuss his career and said that the lowest part of his career was actually his first start at home with the Cleveland Browns, saying: “I went from a person in college who was never shy of the moment to where I questioned my ability.”

“You can’t really show weakness,” Manziel said about being a starting QB in the NFL, adding, “when you question your ability in yourself I think it oozes out into your play on the field.”
Manziel also said this was probably the first time in his entire football career that he wasn’t even able to lead his offense to three points.
Manziel had one of the most exciting runs of any athlete in recent memory, and it’s a shame that things ended the way they did, but he appears to be in a good place these days and has come to terms with his unexpected football career downturn without letting it affect him every day.
