Johnny Manziel was once on top of the world during his Johnny Football era, and even though things didn’t pan out for him in the NFL, fans will never forget how good he was at Texas A&M.
It’s NFL Draft season and comparisons are being thrown out left and right, and Manziel has one of his own for one of the draft’s top prospects.
Manziel went on “Undisputed” today with Skip Bayless and said that he sees a lot of himself in projected first-overall pick Caleb Williams, saying “there’s no doubt in my mind he will be the first QB off the board.”

“The way he moves his feet, the way he’s able to extend plays out of the pocket is uncanny,” Manziel added about Williams.
Williams most often gets compared to Patrick Mahomes for similar reasons, as analysts comparing him to Manziel would scare some people given how Manziel’s NFL career unfolded.
That being said, the on-field comparisons between Manziel and Caleb Williams are obvious, as Manziel also excelled when plays broke down and made off-platform throws all over the field.
Williams is almost surely going to the Chicago Bears with the first pick and will be looked at as a franchise savior just like Manziel was supposed to be for the Browns, except Williams is stepping into a much better situation than Manziel did.
The Bears went out this offseason and brought in wide receiver Keenan Allen to pair with star young receiver DJ Moore, while also signing D’Andre Swift in free agency to take over at running back.
