After shipping superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets ahead of the 2023 NFL season, the Green Bay Packers were a team that was expected to take a step back, with the team not knowing what they were getting by starting Jordan Love as their new franchise quarterback under center.
Many believed the 2023 campaign would be the start of an extensive rebuilding period for the Packers, as no one expected much out of Green Bay and basically wrote them off before the first snap was taken in Week 1 against the division-rival Chicago Bears.
Although the first half of the 2023 regular season was forgettable, with many ups and downs, the Packers hit their stride in the second half, resulting in an unexpected playoff berth in the NFC.
Ultimately, the Packers turned out to be one of the biggest surprises of the season, as they went on to take down the second-seeded Dallas Cowboys in the first round of the NFL playoffs while on the road and then gave the eventual NFC champion San Francisco 49ers a run for their money in the next round.
Now that the NFL offseason is well underway, the Packers know they have a shot at being a contender in the near future and have been actively trying to improve their squad, with the latest addition being cornerback Gemon Green, according to the team’s Twitter account.

Unfortunately, Green’s addition isn’t a game-changer for the Packers defense, as he has yet to play an NFL game.
Last year, Green was signed by the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent but was cut after training camp and spent time on the team’s practice squad.
The University of Michigan product will have his work cut out for him to prove his worth in Green Bay to secure a roster spot.
