After finally seemingly turning the corner during the 2022 NFL season, the Jacksonville Jaguars headed into last season with high hopes of getting over the hump and becoming a legitimate Super Bowl title contender, with star quarterback Trevor Lawrence leading the way.
Unfortunately, the Jaguars failed to live up to expectations and were outshined in the division that was thought to be theirs for the taking by the upstart Houston Texans, who struck gold in the 2023 NFL Draft with quarterback C.J. Stroud out of Ohio State.
Although the Jaguars are coming off a disappointing season, the team has been aggressive during the offseason to bounce back with a vengeance next season, which includes re-signing star linebacker Josh Allen to a massive five-year deal.
According to Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network, Allen shared his reaction to signing a $150 million deal with the Jaguars and how he’s set goals for himself moving forward.
“I want to cry because I’m so happy,” Allen said. “Job is not done yet that’s what I want to tell the fanbase. I’m extremely blessed and honored to get those checks, but I still set goals for myself. DPOY, Super Bowl, Super Bowl MVP, I’m a legacy guy.”

Along with Allen’s long-term future in Jacksonville being secured, the Jaguars also made some big moves like signing wide receivers Gabe Davis and Devin Duvernay, defensive back Darnell Savage, defensive end Arik Armstead, and corner Ronald Darby.
It’ll be interesting to see if these offseason moves pay off and whether the Jaguars can return to form next season as a potential title contender in the AFC.
