It has been an up-and-down season for the Pittsburgh Steelers so far, with the team still trying to figure things out offensively, with quarterback Kenny Pickett finding it difficult to live up to expectations in his sophomore season.
However, during the Week 5 showdown with the division-rival Baltimore Ravens, the Steelers started to show some promise, as they were able to get the best of Lamar Jackson and company, who many believed were the best team in the AFC North division.
The Ravens were brought back down to Earth in Week 5, while the Steelers started to show why this team shouldn’t be overlooked this season, with the team coming out on top and now sitting atop the division standings with a record of 3-2.
Unfortunately for Pittsburgh, the win over the Ravens didn’t come without a cost, as the team’s best defensive player, T.J. Watt, suffered a nasty hand injury, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
#Steelers star T.J. Watt suffered a badly dislocated finger and tore multiple ligaments in Sunday’s win over Baltimore, sources tell me and @RapSheet.

Although Watt’s injury sounds painful and likely tough to play through, the Steelers star seems intent on continuing to play while dealing with the injury.
Fortunately for Pittsburgh, the Steelers are headed into their bye week at just the right time, with Watt and Pickett able to heal up while preparing for the showdown with the Los Angeles Rams on October 22 at SoFi Stadium in the City of Angels.
If Watt can continue playing at a high level even with the injury, the Steelers may continue to make some noise while making a solid case to win the AFC North division crown and be playoff-bound.
