For the first time in years, we have multiple potential superstars at quarterback in the NFL Draft.
Some experts project as many as four quarterbacks to be taken in the first five selections, perhaps even the first four.
On top of that, as many as six quarterbacks could be taken in the first round.
Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, and Drake Maye have been considered the top-three guys for most of the process.
Nonetheless, NFL analyst Chris Simms isn’t that high on Maye.
Talking on the PFF NFL Podcast, Simms stated that he has Maye as his QB6 for this class, mostly because of some mechanical issues that scare him, and he’s not so sure whether they can be fixed.

Simms pointed out that Maye seems to need a lot of space to throw, as opposed to other quarterbacks who make plays in tight spaces.
He believes his mechanics aren’t often fluid, and that’s also a major concern.
Still, his biggest red flag about Maye is the fact that he’s seen him miss plenty of wide-open throws, adding that he’s failed to complete passes he should’ve completed.
Maye is an elite athlete and has all the physical tools to succeed at the next level, but he doesn’t seem to be NFL-ready right now.
He could benefit from getting an opportunity to sit for one year or two, which is unlikely to happen in today’s era.
Only time will tell if Simms was right about him or if those red flags shouldn’t have been enough to scare him away.
