After a disastrous follow-up to the 2022 NFL season with a forgettable 2023 campaign, the New York Giants desperately want to right the ship ahead of the 2024 season, and the team is doing what it can to make the squad competitive moving forward.
Although the Giants suffered a massive loss on the offensive side of the football by seeing veteran star running back Saquon Barkley sign with the division-rival Philadelphia Eagles, New York is trying to be optimistic about their chances heading into the 2024 campaign.
The Giants could potentially be a major player during the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft, as it isn’t beyond the realm of possibility that the team trades up to land one of the best quarterbacks in this draft class or bring in a quarterback later in the draft.
In the meantime, the front office will try to upgrade the roster through NFL free agency, with the team making a splash on Thursday by signing veteran defensive tackle Jordan Phillips, formerly of the Buffalo Bills, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

This will be Phillips’ fourth team in the NFL, as he had previous stints with the Miami Dolphins, Arizona Cardinals, and Bills before landing with the Giants in free agency.
Phillips played in 14 games for the Bills last season, recording five passes defensed, 2.5 sacks, and 10 solo tackles.
Although Phillips might be a game-changer for the Giants, he definitely improves New York’s defensive line, which is obviously a step in the right direction for a team that needs to get back on track as a force to be reckoned with in the NFC.
