After finishing the 2023 season with a surprising AFC South crown and a playoff win, the Houston Texans are out to prove that last season’s run to the Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs was no fluke.
FOX Sports analyst Chris Broussard is among the believers that not only are the Texans back for yet another run, but Houston is also positioned to become one of the best teams in the AFC.
“First Things First” posted a video clip to Twitter, showing Broussard naming the Texans as a threat and a contender to make the Super Bowl next season.
“They are absolute threats,” Broussard said of the Texans.
“It’s the Chiefs and Ravens on a tier, then the Texans. … They are absolute threats. They’re right in that conversation with who is going to challenge KC in the AFC.” — @Chris_Broussard

Broussard went on to call Houston an “elite team” after trading for Stefon Diggs, telling viewers that the Texans are now just a notch below both the Kansas City Chiefs and the Baltimore Ravens after that acquisition.
How good Houston will be depends on quarterback C.J. Stroud, Broussard told his co-hosts.
Broussard compared Stroud’s rookie season to that of elite quarterbacks from the past, including Ben Roethlisberger, Russell Wilson, Andrew Luck, and Cam Newton.
Each of those quarterbacks parlayed a fantastic rookie season into a terrific sophomore follow-up campaign, Broussard said.
Pairing Diggs and former Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon with Stroud will be exciting offensively for Houston.
Broussard went on to name head coach DeMeco Ryans as the other important piece to the Texans’ success, adding that several coaches who served as defensive coordinators in the NFL built their teams into contenders.
