There are quite a few talented quarterbacks in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft, with a lot of those quarterbacks expected to be taken in the first round on April 25, with USC superstar Caleb Williams likely being the first quarterback off the board at No. 1 overall.
Once Williams is off the board, the consensus seems to be that Drake Maye, Jayden Daniels, and J.J. McCarthy are the next in line to be taken, with all three of these quarterbacks getting high praise over the last couple of months, making the Washington Commanders’ selection at No. 2 one of the most intriguing in the draft.
In the second or potentially third tier of quarterbacks available, there are also some intriguing options for teams that are looking to develop a young leader under center, with Michael Penix Jr. out of the University of Washington being arguably the most talented after the top quarterbacks have been drafted.
Former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III makes the case that Penix is the best “pure passer” in this draft class, which is a bold statement considering the talent at the top of the draft.
Michael Penix Jr. is the THE BEST PURE PASSER in this draft class. True Eagle Eye in the pocket 15+ yards downfield and had some OUTRAGEOUS throws on tape. In 2022, @themikepenix threw a TD to Wayne Taulapapa that I heard whistle from the booth.

The one major issue with Penix is that he’s struggled to stay healthy as he dealt with a few knee issues even before making the jump to the NFL level, which will likely prevent a lot of teams from taking a chance on him with a high draft pick.
However, there’s no questioning his talent as he can help an NFL team, but it remains to be seen where he’ll land in the draft.
