After the Buffalo Bills traded star wide receiver Stefon Diggs just days ago, it is easy to think that their window to compete for a Super Bowl championship has closed.
Diggs has made the Pro Bowl in each of the last four seasons, and his departure has left them without a true threat at wideout.
But offensive tackle Dion Dawkins said on “The Jim Rome Show” that he believes the team’s championship window “is open forever.”

The problem for Buffalo is that Gabe Davis, their No. 2 wide receiver last season, also left to join the Jacksonville Jaguars, and while they brought in Curtis Samuel and Mack Hollins, neither of them make opposing defensive coordinators or defensive backs nervous.
The team will have to lean more on quarterback Josh Allen, who is one of the NFL’s best signal-callers and is arguably the best dual-threat player at that position.
In 2023, he not only threw for 4,306 yards and 29 touchdowns, but he also added 524 yards and 15 touchdowns on the ground.
However, he did throw 18 interceptions, which was second in the league to only Sam Howell.
The Bills will also have to rely a lot on defense, something that let them down last season, partly due to injuries.
A number of key players on that side of the football were banged up in 2023, and they will need plenty of good health there this fall.
The consensus is that the Miami Dolphins and New York Jets are better than the Bills, but it seems the Bills are determined to prove all of those pundits wrong.
